So far, the response has been amazing.
New stores and products popping up constantly.
A steady flow of transactions happening across the platform all day, every day.
And most importantly, creators getting paid for their hard work.
It’s a great feeling for us as a team to see our own hard work start to pay off. On top of that, most of the assumptions we made about the product were right. With that said, we also learned about a few highly requested features by creators — which is exactly what we had hoped for during our beta.
In this first edition of Lemon Drop, we’ll give you some insight into what’s been happening since launching the private beta, new features, and when we’re opening our doors to the public.
Let’s start with the biggest drop of them all.
More payout options.
This week we announced more ways to get paid as a creator. In fact, Lemon Squeezy now supports bank account payouts in 79 countries and PayPal payouts in 200+ countries.
Also, note Lemon Squeezy absorbs the payout fees for you. It’s part of our ongoing effort to make sure creators get as much of their hard-earned money as they can.
Lemon Squeezy has always had the ability to redirect your customers to a URL after they’ve purchased, but we’ve improved it to scratch our own itch. When launching Iconic Pro, we found ourselves wanting an easy and automatic method of activating license keys — and so we built it.
There’s a laundry list of things we’ve fixed and cleaned up since we launched, but we couldn’t let this one slip through without giving it a little highlight in our first Lemon Drop.
The main goal for us during BETA was to learn from real customers. Essentially validate the product and ideas we have for the product.
As creators ourselves, we felt confident in what we built, but much of our time has been spent talking to real users. Getting more and more valuable feedback, no matter how big or small.
Feedback ranged from simple UX/UI improvements to questions about specific features on our roadmap. However, the biggest topic focused on creators getting paid. That’s exactly why this Lemon Drop was mostly focused on expanding our payout service.
As you would expect, there was some bug clean-up after we opened access. In addition to the payout service release, we also spent loads of time cleaning up the UI, fixing bugs, and increasing the speed and performance of the platform.
We use a service called Linear.app to keep track of our cycles. Each week the team prioritizes the work as a group and we try to keep a balance of building key features while also staying on top of platform maintenance.
As we look forward onto our next Lemon Drop here’s a list of things we’re hoping to announce.
From the entire Lemon Squeezy team, we wanted to say thanks to all the beta users. We appreciate all time you’ve spent testing the product and sending valuable feedback. We also understand the trust you put in us to be the home for your digital products — we won’t let you down.
Thank you, again, for being a Lemon Squeezy user.
That’s all for this Lemon Drop.
Stay fresh. 🍋
