Here’s the hard truth. If you run an online store, shopping cart abandonment is inevitable. No matter how big or how small, you will have to deal with customers leaving items in their cart.

The reality is the average shopping cart abandonment rate is 69.80% (according to a study by Baymard Institute).

A sure-fire way to remedy this situation is by leveraging email. A quick email that reminds customers about leftover shopping cart items can increase revenue overnight.

Sending abandoned cart emails has proven to be one of the most effective ways to recover lost customers. This is because these emails are based around customers intent to purchase.

Today, we’re excited to announce this functionality is now available for all store owners.

Recover lost sales with Lemon Squeezy

As mentioned above, we recently deployed a new feature that provides everything you need to send effective abandoned cart emails. With this new feature, everything is automatically done for you. There’s no setup. No configuration. It’s easy peasy.

In short, here’s how Lemon Squeezy’s new abandoned cart feature works.

  • A customer’s email address is saved once it has been entered on the checkout.
  • Lemon Squeezy will send the customer up to 3 email reminders over 3 days if they didn’t complete their purchase
  • Customers can opt-out of further reminder emails if they wish.
  • As a store owner, you will see a new abandoned cart event type under the order “Timeline”.
  • As a store owner, under your dashboard you will now see a abandoned cart revenue chart.
